Westinghouse is a global nuclear company committed to assisting the UK Government in its plans for 'nuclear renaissance' by providing the necessary technology and services to bring 'new nuclear' to fruition, ensuring that electricity supply is not compromised and that environmental challenges are addressed. Our main areas of business are nuclear fuel manufacture, design and commissioning of new nuclear power plants, and providing services to existing power plants. Westinghouse technology features in around half of the nuclear power plants in the world.
Nuclear fuel manufacture is the cornerstone of our current business in the UK and Westinghouse operate the fuel manufacturing plant at Springfields near Preston, where close to 1500 people are employed. Our UK Regional Office is based in Chorley, Lancashire, just a few miles from the Springfields Site.
