We would like to provide you with more information about Gap Medics and our summer work experience programmes. This summer we would like to invite all Blackpool Sixth Form College students who are interested in a career in medicine, nursing, midwifery or dentistry to join us on a one or two week overseas medical placement. Gap Medics is not like any other type of hospital work experience… it's based in Tanzania or Thailand and students get to stay with other students their own age in our very own Gap medics houses. Exciting stuff!
Gap Medics participants do not have to be taking a gap year to attend our programmes. All we ask is that students are 16 or over and have a passion for medicine. In all three destinations we have our very own safe and secure home which is fully staffed so we really know how to take care of your students - providing all food, safe and comfortable accommodation and a fun, friendly staff team to accommodate all their needs.
Our summer programmes run from early June right the way through until late August, so your students can find the perfect date to fit in with their summer plans. Combining travel and medical work experience can really help them to stand out on their university applications. We also provide global health tutorials for all our participants so they can develop a deeper understanding of tropical diseases in the country where they are based.
