U create UTV media

U Create is an exciting and free inspirational project that uses an e-learning platform from UTV Media. It’s designed to bridge the gap between education and the working world by allowing students to work on real world activities as part of their studies. Students can participate in producing an advertising campaign set by local businesses and the end result can be uploaded to the U Create website at [ http://www.ucreateproject.com/ ]www.ucreateproject.com.

As part of U Create's latest assignment we have teamed up with the National Apprenticeship Service to provide your students with information on what it means to be an apprentice in 2013. We have provided support and advice on the platform to help you and your students with their research along with links to informative websites and videos.

We are inviting pupils to write and record a 60 second radio commercial about being an apprentice and promoting this idea to other young people around the region. The commercial should be creative and think about the target audience. The winning group’s commercial will be professionally produced and broadcast on local radio for thousands of people to hear!

This real world project is completely free, an experience which will provide an invigorating and creative way to build on your pupil’s PSHE, literacy skills, persuasive writing techniques, speaking and listening. Please click on the following link to register your school and join the many other schools within the region taking part in this exciting competition at [ http://www.ucreateproject.com/ ]www.ucreateproject.com

The deadline for registering your school is the 4th October but the deadline for actual submissions is the 29th November, which can either be sent through the UCreate platform or e-mail directly to: [ mailto:ucreateproject@gmail.com ]ucreateproject@gmail.com.

We look forward to hearing from you and to including your students on this real world project with the National Apprenticeship Service.

 Kindest regards,
